Rates for Online ACT and SAT Tutoring

We tutor privately and in group settings via Zoom. Our private tutoring rate is $125 an hour, and we schedule two-hour sessions at a time (so $250 per session). We typically do 6-12 sessions before a test date. Then, sometimes students will get the results, see improvement, and want to do another round or two of tutoring. It really depends on your child’s specific goals. Typically, when a student starts at 1000 or under on the SAT, or in the teens on the ACT, it takes longer to see improvement. Otherwise, we typically see students jump 50-250 points on the SAT or 3-8 points on the ACT.

A lot of times I suggest students take a group class first and then move to private tutoring afterwards to really hone in on specific strengths and weaknesses. My classes are pretty interactive: I ask kids to respond frequently through a chat feature where only I see what they are saying. That way, students can answer without seeing other responses, and they can ask questions without fear of embarrassment. I focus on strategy, content, and practicing with real test questions. Sometimes students will do a combination of private tutoring and group tutoring.

You can find our current group classes here.

My own schedule tends to fill up, so I also have partners. One is my personal assistant, Derren. She is a certified high school teacher with her education degree from UGA. She is super young, fun, and encouraging. She was actually my student when she was in the 8th grade, and I used to joke that she was the most hirable 14 year old I had ever met! (She is 27 now–ha!) I meet with her daily, and we discuss her students and lesson plan together.

My other partner, Nicole, is a certified teacher at the high school level. She’s worked with me for 5 years while also teaching in the classroom part-time (she taught for over 12 years). She now works with me full time!

Another is my husband, Alex. He is a perfect scorer in several sections of the SAT and ACT, including SAT math. He also ran a tutoring program in Athens for kids in need for about 8 years. I plan the lessons directly with him when he takes on sessions for me. He has a lot of experience with teenagers as he used to be a youth pastor.

*Private tutoring is paid for on a pay-as-you-go basis through Venmo or Zelle.
*Group classes are paid through PayPal, but you do not need a PayPal account to register for a class!

I hope that gives you some good information to start with!
