About Derren
Derren graduated from the College of Education at The University of Georgia and taught for 3 years in Gwinnett County before moving to Tallahassee, Florida. She has been working with Audrey as a tutor since 2022.
She and Audrey have known each other for much longer, however! Derren was once Audrey’s student in the 8th grade, and Audrey sometimes jokes that she would have hired the 14-year-old version of her back then! (See evidence below)
Derren was awarded “Best Classroom Culture” and “New Teacher of the Month” during her first year of teaching and wants to uphold the same standard of engagement and care as a tutor.
Along with teaching, Derren also enjoys being a part of musical theatre as much as she can. She helped to direct Alice in Wonderland at her last school and has also been in many productions herself! Most recently, she was a part of the cast of The Light in the Piazza. She loves to know what her students care about and show support for their lives outside of education as well as within it.
Derren and her fiancé will be getting married in September of 2024!

Derren has a dog, Axl, who she adopted in 2017.
